About the Innovation Lab
Grassroots Innovation Lab is a virtual and community-based space where youth, families, and communities share stories about climate challenges affecting their regions. Through storytelling, research, and collaboration, we transform lived experiences into meaningful data that supports sustainable solutions.
Climate change continues to affect rainfall patterns, water access, flooding, and drought conditions across many regions, including communities connected to Nigeria and Somalia. By collecting stories, photos, and audio, we build a shared knowledge base that supports climate awareness, innovation, and action.
This lab connects youth with experts, researchers, and community leaders to co-create climate-resilient climate solutions for present and future generations.

How the Innovation Lab Works
Our Data to Story Innovation Solutions Lab transforms community experiences into meaningful climate and water solutions.
We follow a simple but powerful journey:
Data → Story → Action → Innovation
Data: Youth collect stories and experiences from families, elders, and communities about water and climate challenges such as drought, flooding, and water scarcity.

Story: These experiences are documented through storytelling, photos, and audio, creating a shared archive of community knowledge.

Action: Participants analyse the stories to understand patterns, root causes, and opportunities for change.

Innovation: Youth work together to design practical, community-based solutions and connect with water experts and innovators.

The Innovation Lab runs in bi-weekly sessions where participants:
